When people do not push back on a tyrant

When people do not push back on a tyrant, they should not be surprised when he does tyrannical things. Five people died Wednesday, but that was the culmination of four years of corrupt and deceitful behavior….and a fragile ego. The most ardent of fans of the tyrant were endangered by the tyrant’s instigation of violence. The legislators who supported the tyrant’s efforts were found quivering in the Capitol Building worried about their lives. If they stood up and said, “but, I am on your side,” they could have been killed or hurt.

It is easy for Republican legislators and leaders to be courageous now, but when it was needed was when honorable diplomats and inspectors general raised concerns at great risk, knowing they would be fired for so doing. Yet, they did it anyway. I watched honorable duty bound people like Dr. Fiona Hill and Ambassador William Taylor testify under oath, only to be grilled by the tyrant’s toadies, who should also have taken an oath to tell the truth.

Former Intelligence director John Bolton condemns Trump now, but he left diplomats hanging with their testimony as he remained silent about the Ukraine extortion issue. Bolden was quoted as being very critical of the Ukraine extortion issue, but screwed these diplomats with his silence. Other former cabinet members are emboldened to criticize the tyrant now, but did they do enough to protect America from his whims and deceitful behavior when at the time needed?

And, for those who still support this tyrant, they need to answer a lot of questions. Trump’s actions led to five deaths, but he endangered the lives of his fans and the legislators who supported him. There is a term for that – it is called sociopathic behavior. It may not be well-known, but narcissism is a subset of sociopathic behavior. It has not been a large leap for the tyrant to do sociopathic things as he did last February when he purposefully endangered his fans at pep rallies being silent on the COVID-19 risk.

Will the tyrant be removed from office before his term ends? I do not know. But, no one deserves to be removed more than this ego-maniacal, corrupt and deceitful person. With too many Republican leaders not speaking up, especially during his staged voter fraud claims, more than his ardent base believe his BS. Note to followers, he lost the election because he got fewer votes. And, in spite of the claims of conspiracy theorists, the tyrant has lost 59 out of 60 court cases and every recount. He cannot lose more than he has already.

Sadly, more Americans will get hurt with the emboldened shadow people. If you doubt this, some of the more extreme groups that support Trump are already speaking online of worse things to come. Make no mistake, the tyrant and his toadies have blood on their hands, I just pray it is not more.

The Terminator and former Republican Governor says terminate this nonsense

In an article in my browser from People Magazine called “Arnold Schwarzenegger Says GOP Should Denounce Trump’s Attacks on Election: ‘Stupid, Crazy and Evil'” by Sean Neumann, the former Republican Governor speaks plainly. A few paragraphs follow, but the entire article can be linked to below.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has had enough of what he described as President Donald Trump’s ‘un-American bull—-.’

In a new op-ed published Tuesday by The Economist, the Terminator star and former California governor slams Trump for peddling baseless conspiracy theories in an effort to maintain political power.

Schwarzenegger, 73, calls on lawmakers from both parties to denounce Trump, 74, and his efforts to reverse the 2020 results, warning of the “dire consequences” of ‘choosing selfishness and cynicism over service and hope.’

Schwarzenegger, who grew up in Austria during the fallout from World War II, writes that the U.S. ‘was my first love,’ but now he finds himself “deeply concerned” about the direction Trump and his political allies are taking the country.”

Here is an immigrant to the United States, who went from bodybuilder to governor, who loves his country. He is an imperfect man, I know, but his words ring true.

Many of us have said this differently, but let me be frank. The only wide-scale voter fraud is being predictably perpetrated by the person who looks back at the outgoing president when he shaves.

Republican Congressman slams Trump loyalists

An article entitled “GOP Lawmaker Slams Republican Trump Loyalists, Calls MAGA Base ‘Anti-American,’ Says He’s ‘Damn Sick of It'” by Christina Zhao of Newsweek reveals that more Republicans are saying the obvious about their party leader and silent colleagues. Here are the first three paragraphs:

Outgoing Republican Congressman Denver Riggleman of Virginia on Saturday unleashed a barrage of criticism against Donald Trump, his allies and ‘anti-American’ supporters, as the president continues to cast doubt on his election loss.

Riggleman is among the few Republicans who have acknowledged President-elect Joe Biden‘s victory over Trump. Most media outlets called the election for the Democrat, who has secured 306 Electoral College votes, over two weeks ago, but Trump has refused to concede.

In an interview with Forbes, Riggleman condemned his fellow Republicans for remaining quiet amid Trump’s attempts to cast doubt on the election process by claiming a ‘rigged and stolen” election. It’s ‘completely unethical,’ he said, explaining that some of his colleagues believe that breaking with Trump would ‘cost them their careers.'”

Riggleman has chosen his words wisely calling Trump’s allies on these accusations as “anti-American” and calling his colleagues “completely unethical.” As an example, I saw where Trump sycophant Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida is echoing they have proof of voter fraud, following a weekend when Georgia and Wisconsin recounts confirmed the election to Biden in their states, fired cybersecurity expert for Homeland Security Chris Krebs very credibly reiterated on “60 Minutes” last night the election was safe and secure, and two courts threw out appeals from Trump and his supporters.

To be perfectly blunt, the only voter fraud being committed is from the person who looks back at the outgoing president when he shaves. He staged these “unethical actions” for six months and is doing what he was expected to do, as he just cannot face losing.

Because it is not true

Earlier this week, I listened to an interview on NPR with Jake Tapper. He was there speaking about his new book, but the interviewer asked about his several interviews with Kellyanne Conway. During one taped interview early on in the Trump Presidency, she was lamenting that the mainstream media was not covering certain statements made by the President. One example, in particular, noted the President saying the murder rate is at the highest it’s ever been in 47 years. Tapper said the reason we did not cover it is “because it is not true.”

Tapper said we should not cover things that are obviously not true and asked why Trump cannot stick to the the truth. Conway would not answer the question and was running out the clock. Tapper told the interviewer, listening afterward to her not answer the question, he should have stopped her sooner. But, he did not want to come off as a jerk. She half-heartedly concurred when he pressed, but said why don’t you cover veterans’ issues or the economy?

Tapper said he would love to cover those things. We spend our time chasing whatever Trump tweets or diverts us to. It would be great to discuss real issues and progress to address them. He said Trump does himself a disservice when he lies.

I have said many times I don’t like being lied to and, too often, it is obvious the President or one of his spokespeople are lying. I also think his spin doctors know they are lying. As for their boss, I believe he lies so much, he has a difficult time knowing when the truth ends and lies start. It is constant marketing schtick – just say anything to get the sale. I know there are many fine professional salespeople, but Trump exhibits the worst in all of us.

I found Tapper to be a breath of fresh air. Like many reporters, he wants to get it right. But, like many reporters, he realizes how hard it is do so with a man who lies far more than he does not.
