When you fly too close to the sun, you will get burned

Many people who have known the former president have failed to heed this important caution. When you fly too close to the sun, you will get burned. Working with a person who is well known and well documented as highly untruthful, eventually the deceit will rub off on you. Saying it a different way, when you cover for someone who lies often, what does that make you?

Former New York mayor, former federal justice colleague and friend of the former president, Rudy Giuliani, is on trial for possible nefarious actions in Ukraine at the behest of the former president. But, yesterday, he received a big slap in the face when he was suspended by the New York State Bar Association from practicing law. His offense – lying in court and in public in support of his client, the former president, about erroneous election fraud claims.

In an In article by Jim Mustian of the Associated Press called “New York court suspends Rudy Giuliani’s law license,” the following paragraphs say it all:

“NEW YORK (AP) — An appeals court suspended Rudy Giuliani from practicing law in New York on Thursday because he made false statements while trying to get courts to overturn Donald Trump’s loss in the presidential race.

An attorney disciplinary committee had asked the court to suspend Giuliani’s license on the grounds that he’d violated professional conduct rules as he promoted theories that the election was stolen through fraud…

The court held that Giuliani, as a lawyer for Trump, ‘communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large.’”

The former president referred to this ruling with one of his favorite words “witchhunt,” while Giuliani was expectedly not contrite with the ruling, which he can appeal. Whether this news will get reported to sources that fans of the former president follow remains to be seen, but it is impactful news as any state bar association takes this stuff seriously, apparently more so than the two people referenced above.

    • VJ, good point. There are a number of donors who funded the former president’s court cases to claim election fraud. Some want their money back as they feel they were lied to by the accuser. The ROI on the money spent is about as poor as one can get – one small win with over 60 losses. Keith

    • Clive, he is continuing his outspoken ways and is being joined by his outspoken client, who sees this as a personal affront. In this case, his client is right – Giuliani being suspended because of lying is causally related to his deceitful behaving client. Keith

      • They’re as crooked and crazy as each other. Time is overdue for karma to do its job with them. I’ve seen a clip today of Trump on the phone to Newsmax – it looks like even Fox may have given up on his lies if he can only get airtime on the smaller networks.

      • Clive, here is a headline today from Business Insider:

“Manhattan prosecutors could bring criminal charges against the Trump Organization and CFO Allen Weisselberg as soon as next week”

The former president is facing this and other criminal and civil lawsuits. As these pile up, it will be easier for sycophants to start jumping ship. Keith

    • Janis, I would love to see him go quietly away. The fact he should go to prison is a fate he may escape, but it won’t be due to innocence. It will be due to settlement. Keith

      • Jill, sadly, there are way too many still that believe what the mostly deceitful speaking former president says. We have already seen more than a trickle, but less than a flood move away from him. Yet, the core is still strong with more than 50% support who believe his BS about the election. Keith

    • David, Rudy and The Donald have been lying well before the election to cause doubt. The election fraud claim scam has been planned and staged by the former president for a long while. Keith

  1. Oh Drumps fans will hear all about it and dismiss it as the Witchhunt he tells them it is. I’d love to see the whole passel of Trump and his sycophants locked up in a single cell so they could all work it out amongst themselves. Wouldn’t that be entertainment?

  2. Note to Readers: The former president has taken his vengeful “fear me” message on the road taking on those who dared to vote to impeach or convict him. It is not very hard to see who the courageous folks are in this equation. But, he will have more to fume about next week when his Trump Organization is brought up on criminal charges. He can fume all he wants, but he cannot make this go away.
